Has anyone used the Freedom in Christ material? If so, how did you find it? Did it work? Are you using it on a regular basis? Any practical tips that you would like to pass on?

Hi Philip
We discovered it initially through a US Army couple worshipping with us while posted in the UK several years ago.
We have been using the '7 steps to freedom appointment' for several years both here and in a mission situation in India and found them very effective when folk engage with the Lord honestly. Some people need time to learn to be honest in the Steps and they benefit according to how open there are. We have also trained another church team in using the steps.

We have used the discipleship course and found it generally helpful as a way of delivering the teaching material in preparation for individual 7 steps appointments. Next time we will run a shortened course as there are some sessions which are not particulary helpful.

The Walking With the Wounded approach is helpful when working as a team with folk who have substatial medium/long term issues.
So as you can see we have built this approach into the pastoral care/discipleship of the church family life. It's not perfect, but is a very useful approach, and only 'works' if folk genuinely engage with the Lord through it

Dear Andy,
Thanks very much for your comments, they were really helpful. We are going to start the course with the whole church at the end of Jan. It seems that everyone feels that the 7 steps are really important. Thanks once agian
Love in Jesus
